BUCHAREST: Working continuously not only makes you physically and mentally tired and affects your performance but also affects one's health.
With that in mind, researchers at the Romania's West University of Timisoara conducted a 30-year study of 10-minute "microbreaks" to determine what benefits these breaks could have.
During the study, published in the journal PLOS ONE, researchers reviewed 22 studies on the benefits of taking microbreaks. Research has shown that short breaks during work hours can increase energy and reduce fatigue, and these breaks can potentially improve employee performance.
Experts say that short breaks are effective in conserving large amounts of energy and reducing fatigue.
Based on the results of the research, the researchers suggest that bosses should offer a mix of short-term and long-term breaks to improve the performance of their employees.
