London: Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain died at the age of 96 in Scotland.

The death of the Queen of Great Britain has been confirmed by the Royal Family on the social networking site Twitter, and doctors had expressed concern over her health for the past two days.

The Queen's son, Charles, will be the new monarch and head of the 14 Commonwealth of Nations, while crowds outside Buckingham Palace and flags have been flown at half-mast.

The British government has announced ten days of mourning for the death of Queen Elizabeth II and notices have been posted at residences.

The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

The Queen's coffin will be taken on a royal train to St Pancras railway station in London and from the railway station, the coffin will be brought to Buckingham Palace.

According to reports, the Queen's funeral will take place ten days later at Westminster Bay, and two minutes of silence will be observed during the Queen's funeral before the Queen will be laid to rest at the King George VI Memorial Chapel in Windsor.

According to the British media, there will be a national holiday on the day of the queen's funeral. London stock, banks, and all important institutions will be closed on the day of the queen's burial.

The Queen was the Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces, and the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, she was also the patron of more than 600 charities and organizations, and 15 Prime Ministers came during her reign, from Sirenston Churchill to Leicester.

It should be remembered that Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, died in April this year at the age of 99. 

According to British media, Prince Charles will serve as the head of the 14 countries of the Commonwealth as the new king.

In his first statement since taking over as monarch, the King said: "The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a very sad moment for me and all members of my family. Deeply shocked by the death of the mother."

"I know that this loss will be felt not only by the entire country but by the people of the Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the world," he said.

It should be noted that the Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 in Balmoral Palace, she was the ruler of the country for 70 years.
