In India, armed men killed a former Muslim MLA and his brother while they were being held by the police.
In the state of Uttar Pradesh, armed individuals killed Former MLA Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf as they were being held by the police and broke the law in broad sight.
Former MLA Atiq and two other defendants in the murder case received life sentences, while Ashraf was declared innocent.
While speaking to the media on their way home after being taken to the hospital for a checkup while being held by the police, the two brothers were fatally murdered.
The son of Atiq was also allegedly slain in a confrontation yesterday.
Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All India Majlis Ittehad Muslimeen, condemned the execution of Atiq and his brother and claimed that Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, had failed to restore peace by allowing the killing of the chained brothers and the chanting of extremist Hindu slogans.
