Swat: The death toll from the bombing at the CTD police station in Kabal has risen to 18.
Search and rescue efforts are ongoing at the area, according to rescue personnel. Last night, 70 injured persons were taken to the hospital; according to a hospital report, the blast claimed the lives of 18 people and injured 51 others. The wounded were taken to the Peshawar Burn Centre.
Sub-inspector Abdullah, Ashraf Ali, and ASI Sher Alam are among the killed police officers, according to the police, along with constables Taj Muhammad, Sheroli, Khalil Rehman, Bakht Rokhan, Ismat Ali, and Fazal Razak.
However, according to the authorities, all of the explosives in the CTD police station have been neutralized.
In addition, IGP Akhtar Hayat stated that no proof of an outside attack was discovered inside the police station, the explosion occurred when explosives were lying in the basement, and that further investigations are being conducted.
Meanwhile, Corps Commander Peshawar, IG Police, IGFC, and other people joined in the funeral prayers for the nine policemen who killed in the Swat blast.
Five detainees were were among those killed in the explosion, according to the officials.
