Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf contested in the by-elections of 8 constituencies of the National Assembly and according to the so far inconclusive and unofficial results, PTI Chairman Imran Khan won 6 seats while PPP has won in Malir and Multan.
Polling continued in 8 constituencies of the National Assembly and 3 constituencies of the Punjab Assembly from 8 am to 5 pm without any break.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan was competing with other candidates for 7 out of 8 seats in the National Assembly.
Results of 7 constituencies of the National Assembly
According to the incomplete and unofficial results so far, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won 6 seats in the by-elections, while the PPP won from Multan and Malir.
Imran Khan won the Peshawar seat and defeated the ANP candidate Ghulam Ahmed Bilor.
According to the unofficial and non-final results of all 265 polling stations of NA-31 Peshawar, Imran Khan was declared successful by getting 57 thousand 824 votes.
ANP's Ghulam Ahmed Bilor could get 32 thousand 253 votes and thus Ghulam Bilor was defeated by 25 thousand 571 votes.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan also won the Mardan field after Peshawar. Imran Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won with 76681 votes as per the unofficial and inconclusive result of all 330 polling stations of NA-22 Mardan-3.
Muhammad Qasim of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam got 68181 votes and was defeated by 8500 votes.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan also defeated Awami National Party leader Amil Wali Khan.
Imran Khan defeated Amil Wali Khan by 10233 votes. According to the unofficial and inconclusive results of all 384 polling stations in NA-24 Charsadda, Imran Khan won with 78589 votes and Amil Wali Khan of Awami National Party got 68356 votes.
In Faisalabad, Imran Khan defeated Muslim League (N)'s Abid Sher Ali by a margin of 24,471 votes. According to the unofficial final result of all 354 polling stations of NA-108 Faisalabad, Imran Khan came first with 99602 votes.
PML-N's Abid Sher Ali got 75131 votes.
Imran Khan also won NA-118 Nankana Sahib National Assembly Constituency in Punjab with a big margin.
According to the unofficial and inconclusive result of all 319 polling stations of NA 118 Nankana Sahib 2, Imran Khan won by getting 90180 votes.
Pakistan Muslim League-N's Shazra Mansab Ali secured 78024 votes and was defeated by 12156 votes.
The PTI chairman also won the Korangi seat in Karachi. According to unofficial results of all 330 polling stations of NA 239 Karachi Korangi 1, Imran Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf came first with 50014 votes.
Syed Nayar Raza of Muttahida Qaumi Movement could get 18116 votes and he was defeated by 31 thousand 898 votes.
Imran Khan faced failure in only one seat out of 7 constituencies and he lost to PPP candidate Abdul Hakeem Baloch in NA 237 Malir.
According to the unofficial non-final result of all 194 polling stations of NA 237 Karachi Malir 2, Abdul Hakeem Baloch of Pakistan People's Party was declared successful with 32567 votes.
Imran Khan of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf got 22493 votes and was defeated by a margin of 10 thousand 74 votes.
Upset defeat to PTI in Multan
Apart from this, a by-election was also held on the NA-157 seat vacated by Shah Mahmood Qureshi's son Zain Qureshi from Multan.
According to the unofficial and inconclusive results of all the polling stations of NA 157 Multan 4, Syed Ali Musa Geelani of Pakistan Peoples Party won by getting 107327 votes.
His opponent Shah Mehmood Qureshi's daughter and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Mehr Bano Qureshi secured 82141 votes.
PPP's Ali Musa Geelani defeated PTI's Mehrabano Qureshi by a huge margin of 25,186 votes.
It should be noted that this seat was vacated by Shah Mehmood Qureshi's son Zain Qureshi.
PTI won 2 out of 3 seats in Punjab Assembly
By-elections were also held on three Punjab Assembly seats, including PP 139 Sheikhupura, PP 209 Khanewal, and PP 241 Bahawalnagar.
PTI won 2 and Muslim League (N) one seat in Punjab Assembly.
PP 209 Khaniwal seat was won by PTI and according to the unofficial and inconclusive results of all 176 polling stations, Muhammad Faisal Khan Niazi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won with 71156 votes.
PML-N's Chaudhry Zia-ur-Rehman got 57603 votes.
Tehreek-e-Insaf seat was also won by Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Malik Muhammad Muzaffar Khan won with 59,957 votes as per the unofficial inconclusive result of all 168 polling stations in PP-241 Bahalingar 5.
Pakistan Muslim League-N's Amanullah Sattar secured 48147 votes and came second.
Shekhorpura's seat went to PML-N and Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad Bhangu of PML-N won.
According to the unofficial and inconclusive results of all 153 polling stations of PP 139 Sheikhupura 5, Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed Bhangu of Pakistan Muslim League-N won first place by getting 40829 votes.
His opponent Muhammad Abu Bakr of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf got 37712 votes.
