India: A heatwave caused almost 100 people death in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

India is currently experiencing tremendous heat, and two states have seen around 100 fatalities as a result of the heat wave.

Foreign media reports that a severe heat wave is currently affecting Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, two of India's most populous states and that 96 people have died as a result of the heat in recent days.

According to media reports, due to the extreme heat, the authorities have advised residents of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to take precautions, including advising those over 60 and those who are ill to stay at home and issuing instructions not to leave the house frequently in the afternoon.

54 heat-related deaths have reportedly been documented so far in the state of Uttar Pradesh, with the majority of those passing away in the Ballia area, which is around 200 miles from Lucknow.

According to officials, persons over 60 who had a variety of illnesses and were unable to withstand the heat make up the majority of those who died.

The medical staff's leave has also been canceled due to the deteriorating conditions in the neighborhood, according to the local hospital authorities, who also report that 300 patients who were afflicted by the heat in the last three days have been admitted to the hospital.

According to hospital officials, the majority of patients admitted to the hospital had symptoms including a high temperature, vomiting, diarrhea, and breathing difficulties and are older than 60.

According to media reports, the temperature in Ballia district was 43 degrees Celsius on Sunday, and according to forecasts from the Meteorological Department, it will stay that way through June 19.

In addition, 42 people have already lost their lives in the state of Bihar over the past two days as a result of the heat, and more than 200 patients have been admitted to hospitals with vomiting and diarrhea.
