Pakistan: The President approved the appointment of Justice Faez Isa as Chief Justice

Islamabad: President Arif Alvi gave his approval to Qazi Faez Isa's appointment as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

On September 16, 2023, Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial will step down in accordance with Article 179 of the Constitution.

With Justice Umar Atta Bandial's retirement on September 17, 2023, Justice Qazi Faez Isa will take over as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

According to Article 175 A3 of the Constitution, the President appoints the Chief Justice.


Pakistan's 29th Chief Justice will be Qazi Faez Isa.

On September 17, 2023, the President will take the oath of office from Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa has been appointed as the nation's Chief Justice with the president's approval. Qazi Faez Isa became the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan two months ago.

Umar Atta Bandial, the current Chief Justice, was sworn in on February 2, 2022, and he will step down on September 17, 2023.

The Chief Justice's appointment has been announced via the Pakistani President's official Twitter account.
