Israel should end its occupation of the Palestinian territories in one year : The UN General Assembly passed a resolution

The United Nations General Assembly has approved a resolution presented by Palestine demanding that Israel end its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian territories within 12 months.

In the General Assembly, 124 votes were in favor of this resolution and 14 against it, while 43 countries did not participate in the voting.

The General Assembly has approved this resolution at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to address the annual session of the General Assembly on September 26 next week, on the same day Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will also address the General Assembly.

This resolution was presented in the General Assembly after the decision of the International Court of Justice declaring the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and Israeli settlements illegal.

The resolution presented today also called for countries to stop importing goods manufactured in Israel's illegal settlements, as well as stop supplying Israel with weapons because there is a possibility that those weapons could end up in occupied Palestine.
