Dhaka: The head of the interim government formed after the student protest in Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, announced to holding general elections after large-scale reforms in the country.
The head of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, says that he will start reforms by bringing the situation back to normal in Bangladesh, bringing important reforms in the Election Commission, Judiciary, and Civil Administration.
The Nobel laureate interim head of government said that he will bring important reforms in the security forces and the media, and after the reforms, free and fair elections will be held.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus said that the priority is to give justice to the people killed and affected in the protest, and the UN will help the investigators in every possible way.
It should be noted that due to the student movement against the quota system in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina Wajid resigned from the Prime Ministership on August 5 and fled to India.
After the escape of Sheikh Hasina Wajid to India, the Army Chief of Bangladesh took over the reins of the country, and then, in consultation with student leaders and other stakeholders, Dr. Muhammad Yunus was appointed as the interim head of government.
